Abstract

The discision theraby was introduced as the lowest invasive method comparing with piezocision thrapy. Discision. This method by yuzuf et al. is considered as an alternative method to piezocision technique. In this study, we evaluate the effect of using this modality in type of tooth movement. Ten subject were selected in each group with class I bi maxillary proclination which indicated for premolar extraction1. In the first group, two step retraction was done with conventional method, in the other hand, retraction in the second group was done after discision threapy. CBCT evaluation was done after retraction to evaluate the type of tooth mevement in retracted canine. Using discision therapy improve the quality of canine as the root movement was observed in discision therapy more than conventional retraction method. Translation movement of the canine was improved comparing a conventional method of canine retraction. Discision has a favorable effect on acceleration of the treatment.
